We look forward to day we’ll carry billions to church, Ruto answers his critics

Deputy President William Ruto has asked those against his contribution to churches to stop castigating him.
Speaking at New Breed City Chapel on Kiambu Road on Sunday, Ruto said he will continue giving in churches.
"Many have accused us of carrying money in bags to church. I want to tell them, even as they say we're carrying millions, we look forward to a day we will bring billions to church," the DP told the congregants.

He further asked the church to pray for the country as it heads to next year's general elections.
"I hope God will give us leaders who are God-fearing when we go for the general elections next year," he said.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga while in Mombasa last week said he will jail corrupt people if he is elected president in next year’s General Election.
Without mentioning any names, Raila charged that some individuals who were busy donating millions of shillings to churches belong to Shimo la Tewa Prison.
“They are hyenas. You see them come here in sheep’s clothing and claim they will fundraise for women and youth groups. That is stolen money.
"The people busy going round the country in choppers dishing out money should be in Shimo la Tewa,” Raila said.
“Where does he get the millions from? No one questions where this money is from. When we get into government, our first duty, will be to jail all these people,” he told a gathering during the launch of a health programme in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county.
