Three teachers were shot and killed early Monday morning when suspected Al-Shabaab terrorists attacked Kamuthe Resource Centre in Fafi, Garissa County.

Confirming the 2:00am attack, Police say the militants hit a Kenya Power transformer,  an Administration Police (AP) camp, and a Safaricom mast.

Another teacher was abducted during the attack, while a female nurse is said to have been spared.

Tension High

This latest attack comes barely a week after militants killed four pupils at Saretho, and also destroyed another communication mast.

Tension remains high in the region following the attacks, and security agencies are said to be on high alert across the country..

All the Regional Commissioners, Police commanders and officials from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) are scheduled to have a meeting in Mombasa with President Uhuru Kenyatta this week.
