UK minister assures of justice for Wanjiru
The UK Minister for The Armed Forces James Heappey yesterday said that the British government will help ensure justice for the family of the Agnes Wanjiru whose murder was linked to a British solder.
Heappey who visited Laikipia yesterday said the community was keen to ensure the relationship with British soldiers training in the area was smooth
“No stone will be left unturned in providing the necessary information We have nothing to hide. We want the investigations concluded as much as possible and those responsible brought to justice,” he said.

“The Kenya Parliament has a right to legislate on what it thinks is right. But we think it will affect the Laikipia community who are saying don’t shut the doors on us. The UK-Kenya relationship is strategic. Justice for Agnes is more important,” he said.
In parliament, MPs threatened to vote against the military cooperation agreement between Kenya and the UK until the British soldier alleged to have murdered Wanjiru is charged with the offence.
The MPs said they will demand the repatriation of the soldier alleged to have killed Wanjiru to face the charges on Kenyan soil.
