Uhuru surprise visit to Kisumu airport

President Uhuru Kenyatta today made a suprise stopover at the Kisumu International Airport on his way to Uganda.
Security officials at the airport were caught unaware when the president landed from Eldoret Airport.
No senior government official from the region or from county government of Kisumu received the president.

A police officer at the airport who sought anonymity confirmed to the People Daily that the president landed on a military chopper before boarding a private jet.
He said, “We did not expect him, we only saw the chopper landing and later on we saw him boarding the plane”.
The President has recently made four impromptu visits in the town to check on the progress of the rehabilitation of Kisumu inland port.
