President Uhuru Kenyatta has reappointed former Head of Civil Service Francis Muthaura as the  chairman of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) board of directors.

Through a gazette notice released Friday, Uhuru said Muthaura, 71, would serve for a period of three years.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (2) (a) of the Kenya Revenue Authority Act, I, Uhuru Kenyatta, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, appoint Francis Muthaura  to be the chairperson of the Kenya Revenue Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from October 21, 2019,” read the notice.

Muthaura had been appointed in 2018 and his term would have ended on October 21 this year but his service seems to have impressed the President to warrant a term extension.

In the same gazette notice, the President appointed Mukesh Shah, Leonard Ithau, Susan Mudhune to the KRA board.

Uhuru also reappointed Paul Muchiri Icharia and Rose Waruhiu to serve in the same board for a period of three years.
