In IEBC begun the tallying of votes for the by-election after over five hours of suspension following eruption of chaos on Tuesday night.

The electoral body blamed Kiambu Governor James Nyoro and a group of other intrested parties for disrupting the process.

"At around 10:20pm tonight there was disruption of the tallying process at Mang’u High School Tallying center in Juja Constituency by a group of individuals led by the Kiambu County Governor Mr. James Nyoro," part of the IEBC's statement read.

According to IEBC three men stormed the Mang'u High School tallying centre creating a commotion before heavily armed men whisked them away and restored order.

However, the commotion intensified into near chaos after Jubilee supporters clashed with Progressive Empowerment Party (PEP's) candidate George Koimburi.

The Jubilee faction was led by Nyoro and Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba while Moses Kuria led his party in rooting for Koimburi.

After tallying was postponed, Chebukati arrive at the centre on Wednesday morning and stated that IEBC would launch investigations into the chaos.

"We shall write to the DPP to prosecute anyone found to have been involved in the mayhem. We shall be making further statements in the course of the week but meanwhile we have agreed to continue with tallying," he said.

Residents of Juja are expected to know their results by 2pm Wednesday.
