Trucks torched by suspected militants in east Kenya

Two trucks were burnt by suspected Somalia-based militant group al-Shabab on Sunday in Kenya's coastal county of Lamu.
Irungu Macharia, Lamu County Commissioner, said that the incident occurred at midday when the vehicles were ferrying cement to the site where the militants waylaid the lorries and burnt them to ashes. The two persons in the trucks escaped unhurt," said Macharia.
He said the militants who attacked the trucks fled to the vast Boni forest while a multi-agency team was already pursuing them. (Xinhua)
