Trans Nzoia residents have been warned  to stay at home during the dusk to dawn curfew which starts at 9:00 pm to 4:00 am to help downscale the spread of Covid-19 or face jail sentence for violations.

The county commissioner Sam Ojwang instructed deputy county commissioners in the five sub counties to have operations which will help combat the spread of the disease intensified in order to secure lives.

‘’ We are going to use maximum force on those breaking curfew rules as part of deterrent measures which will make our people free from the dreaded virus. We will not sit pretty watching people jumping up and down in merry making during curfew hours at the expense of the great people of Trans Nzoia," he said.

Speaking to the media at his office during an exercise of distributing 16,500 face masks to high risk persons, he said police officers will be stepping up impromptu security patrols with a view of taking tough action against those who will be found defying measures put in place by the ministry of health to curb the spread of corona virus.

He voiced concern at the manner in which a bigger number of people in recent days have openly disobeyed the bans on large gatherings, by freely mixing without observing social distance even without putting on face masks.
