Trans Nzoia: County launches fumigation exercise

Trans Nzoia County Department of Health on Monday kicked off fumigation exercise of disinfecting all market places and bus parks as a mitigation measure of containing the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The fumigation is taking place at a time when the county is planning for the burial of first coronavirus case who died last week. 

The  remains  of the late engineer Maurice Namiinda  will be interred s at  Naisambu home in Kitale .

Speaking during the fumigation launch at the Kitale Posta grounds, Deputy  Governor Dr Stanley Tarus said the county administration is taking the lead and asked residents to ensure all precautions spelled out are followed.

''As the county administration, we are  taking the lead in ensuring all necessary precautions are observed. We are asking all residents to give us support to eliminate this scourge," said Dr Kenei.

He said the whole fumigation exercise forms part of a countywide disinfection of public spaces to control the spread of the disease.
