United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party is welcoming applications from aspirants for Kiambaa Constituency and Muguga Ward by-elections.

In a notice issued by UDA’s Secretary-General Veronica Maina, aspirants can submit their applications online or to the Party’s headquarters in Nairobi.

“UDA now invites all interested and qualified aspirants to submit their application on or before Monday 3rd May 2021 at 12 noon to the Party’s headquarters at Hustler Center, Makindi road in Nairobi,” read the notice by Maina.

Aspirants seeking nomination certificate for the Member of County Assembly seat have been directed to pay Kshs30,000.

People living with disabilities will part with Kshs20,000 for the same seat.

Parliamentary aspirants will pay a nomination fee of Kshs50,000.

Former Kiambaa MP the late Paul Koinange succumbed to Covid-19 on March 31st.

The former Muguga MP Eliud Ngugi also died of Covid on March 16th.

The two by-elections are slated for 15th July 2021.

UDA, a party linked to the Deputy President William Ruto, will most likely wrestle Jubilee Party for the two seats

The looming contest begins at the time when the ruling Jubilee is seeking a divorce from PDR, now UDA.

Jubilee SG Raphael Tuju wrote to the Registrar of Parties to nullify their union over breach of rules of engagement

The two outfits signed a pre-coalition agreement in the build-up to 2017 polls but things went south when PDR rebranded to UDA and allies of DP Ruto took over the leadership position.
