Bader was accompanied by former senators Hassan Omar, Johnstone Muthama and Boni Khalwale.
Khalwale asked residents to elect Bader, who worked in the office of the late MP Suleiman Dori, to complete the projects they had earmarked to undertake before the demise of the MP.
“Let him go and finish all the work that was pending in the remaining one year.
He is conversant with office and it will be easier for him than a new entrant, who will take time learning before starting to work,” said Khalwale
Khalwalwe said the election of Bader will jump start the 2022 journey for Ruto’s campaigns.
Equal opportunities
Bader is DP’s preferred candidate in the Msambweni polls after Jubilee Party pulled out of the race.
“If Bader wins this seat, it will be an indication that Ruto will also clinch the presidential seat,” he said.
Omar described Bader as a person of a humble background who understands issues facing the local people.
He said the Msambweni contest will drive the hustler nation narrative further.
“The whole country is watching the Msambweni elections because we want to change the conversation and if we don’t elect Bader, our children will continue to suffer under the rule of the same people who have been in power for years” he said.
Omar accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of abandoning the region in the debate of revenue allocation to counties, in which he supported a formula that could have seen the coast region lose over Sh7 billion.
“When we needed Raila the most to stand with us, he showed us his back. I urge you to show him your backs by electing Bader” he said.
Muthama said there is no region marked as a party’s stronghold and individual candidates have equal opportunities to solicit for votes in any region of the country.
He said they will work with Bader under the leadership of Ruto to ensure they win the Msambweni seat.
Bader promised to double the allocation of bursaries to needy students in the next academic calendar due to effects of Covid-19 effects that have strained many parents financially.
He promised Mivumoni residents that he will ensure that the security of the area is enhanced by doing the Mafisini road which has a police post which will also enable agricultural produce reach the market on time.
