Businessman Jimi Wanjigi's convoy was pelted with stones by an angry mob on Friday during his tour in Migori County, Nyanza region.

The Presidential hopeful was forced to cut short his speech after angry youths jeered him from the left side of his motorcade.

Trouble began when Wanjigi while addressing the residents of Migori on his day 2 of the Nyanza tour campaigned on a platform dubbed 'fagia wote'.

However, a section of the youths present seemed unhappy with the statement as they hurled stones towards Wanjigi and his motorcade, forcing him to duck for safety.

Nyanza is said to be the political ground associated to ODM party leader Raila Odinga and the youths accused Wanjigi of disrespecting their leader.

Wanjigi would re-emerge through his social media accounts, posting photos of him meeting the people of Rongo in Migori County.

“Meeting the people of Rongo in Migori County, and they’re ready for a new Kenya,” Wanjigi said

Wanjigi has declared his interest in vying for the presidential seat come 2022 and has been traversing the country in a bid to woo the electorate.
