Raila allies criticise DP Ruto over graft tirade

Some MPs allied to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga yesterday made a scathing attack on Deputy President William Ruto over his claims that he helped the Opposition leader to become Prime Minister in 2017.
They asked Ruto to do the right thing and resign if he thought the Jubilee administration was running down the government.
“Ruto is a candidate for Chapter 6 of the Constitution because he continues to enjoy government salary, allowances, privileges, residences and machinery for being idle.

He should be guided by his conscience and honourably resign. When he says he can’t leave government because he formed it, then equally he should be ready to carry it baggage,” said Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi.
He said the DP cannot blame President Uhuru Kenyatta for the failures of the Jubilee regime while he continues to enjoy the goodies of the same government.
The MPs termed Ruto a novice compared to what the opposition doyen had achieved in his political career.
The legislators who included Moitalel ole Kenta (Narok North), Anthony Oluoch (Mathare), Caleb Amisi (Saboti) and Osotsi told a press conference at Parliament Buildings that all was in black and white that DP’s associates and close allies have been charged or mentioned in corruption matters.
“Ruto cannot run away from corruption, it is synonymous with him and his allies. He should desist from involving Raila in the vice,” said Kenta.
He added; “How many associates of Ruto have been taken to court facing corruption related court?”
