Passengers least affected as traffic accidents claim 954 lives in 2020

The number of passengers who have lost their lives on the road have gone down by 49 people compared to the same period in 2019.
According to the latest crash survey by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), 156 passengers had died by April 13 compared to 205 who succumbed by the same period in 2019.
The authority is attributing this to the reduced traffic activities since the government measures on social distancing due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the country, one month ago.

On the other hand, more pedestrians, an estimated 367 people have have lost their lives since the year began compared to 348 who died in 2019.
Since the year 2020 began, NTSA says in its latest report that a total of 954 people have lost their lives.
