Former football administrator Simon Mugo yesterday received a major
boost ahead of tomorrow's Football Kenya Federation (FKF) branch
elections when he received the backing of aspirant Meshack Onchonga
less than 48 hours before the polls.

Mugo who had taken a sabbatical from football administration four
years ago, is now keen to make a come back and will be vying for the
Nairobi West Branch chairman's position during tomorrow's elections.

“I have decided to join a winning side and it's better late than
never,” said Onchonga the chairman of Red Carpet fc in Westlands who
will be vying for the branch treasurer position.

The move is a blow to the current branch chairman Bashir Hussein who
is seeking re-election, as Onchonga was one of the key persons in his
campaign team.

Others contesting for the branch chairmanship position are renowned
football coach Charles 'Korea' Omondi and Caleb Malweyi.

Onchonga who is a teacher by profession will face Josphat Karuri in
the ballot for the treasurer's position.
