Kenyan boxers registered contrasting results at the ongoing 12th edition of African Games in Rabat, Morocco. While captain Nick Okoth reached the last eight, his deputy Elizabeth Andiego was bundled out of the tournament by Nigeria\u2019s Esther Adejumola on Saturday\u2019s night. Andiego lost 4-1. Okoth who defeated Iyanga Moliko of Equatorial Guinea 5-0 in the men\u2019s featherweight (57kg) on Thursday evening to reach the last-16 continued his exploits on Saturday after beating Angola\u2019s Ernesto Gomes 5-0. Also reaching the quarters is Kenya\u2019s Bakari Hassan who edged out Moroccan Said Mortaji 3-2 on Saturday in the flyweight (52kg). Super heavyweight bout Late on Sunday, Boniface Maina was expected to take to the ring in the welterweight category to face Angola\u2019s Alfonso Gomes in the quarter-finals. Another bout in the quarter final stage will see Lorna Kusa also in the welterweight category fighting Nigeria\u2019s Temitope Shogbamu. In the men\u2019s category 2015 African Games bronze medallist Elly Ajowi (91kg) was to fight Nigeria\u2019s Chukwudi Arinze in the super heavyweight category. The other Kenyan match is expected involve Frederick Ramogi and Morocco\u2019s Mohamed Firisse in the super heavyweight bout. In the 2015 tournament held in Congo, Brazzaville, Kenya bagged two bronze medals through Ajowi and Okoth.
