Immediate former Kenya Power MD and CEO, Bernard Ngugi.

Kenya Power Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Bernard Ngugi has resigned barely two years after his appointment.

Confirming Ngugi's exit, Kenya Power Board of Directors appointed Rosemary Oduor in an acting capacity until a substantive MD is hired.

"Rosemary has a wide experience in power engineering and management having joined the company in 1991and served in various senior positions," the board chair Vivienne Yeda.

Prior to her appointment, Rosemary has been serving as General Manager in charge of Commercial Services and Sales.

Ngugi has been at Kenya Power for more than 30 years.

The board did not give reasons for his resignation.

He was one of the three top managers who survived 2019’s corruption clean-up at the power distributor.
