Nairobi City Stars and Bidco United resumed the second leg of the Betika Super League on a high signalling all intentions to stay the course on promotion.

Leaders City Stars had a slim 1-0 advantage over Shabana at Gusii Stadium courtesy of Abdalla Salim’s late effort.

The win took them to 46 points and seven above Bidco who roasted depleted Mt. Kenya United 5-2 in what was a flood of goals on offer.

At the other end, Vihiga United and Ushuru failed to take advantage of Nairobi Stima’s break as they both drew their matches.

Sammy Okoth’s Vihiga United went goalless away to league surprise package Migori Youth to retain third spot albeit on 36 points.

Both coaches, who spoke after the match to People Sport, were consoled by the point arguing it was a cautious approach in a difficult  pitch.

The taxmen, who also harbour ambitions of featuring in the top tier surprisingly tied 1-1 away to bottom placed St Joseph’s Youth.

The match played at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru saw both sides miss several chances with Ushuru attacker Brian Yakhama being the biggest victim.
