Mugo gets a boost after Starehe’s Okoth joins his team

Simon Mugo has received a major boost in his quest to be the
next chairman of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Nairobi West Branch
chairman, when he received the backing of Pellico coach Fred Okoth who
is seeking to become the next Secretary General of the branch.
Okoth who before Nairobi branch was divided into two, was the branch
secretary in-charge of Youth, is believed to be joining Mugo's camp
with a surety of at least 10 teams votes from Starehe constituency.
He will battle it out against former international midfielder Dennis
'Wise' Akoth and Charles Kaindi for the seat, come the November 23
polls.

“ My decision to join Mugo's team was guided by the clubs I represent
as they told me to join the winning team. Mugo and I also have a
history having worked together for many years previously. This is a
winning team and we are looking forward to victory come the elections
day,” he told People Sport when he paid a courtesy call yesterday.
According to Okoth, the current office has failed to fully live up to
expectations thus it was necessary for change.
“We need to change things for the better and hopefully once we are in our top agenda will about involving everybody for progression. We want to enhance accountability and be more communicative to our membership. This is the only way to make the branch active,” added the 41 year old ex
Reunion FC player.
