The National Motocross Championship saw top competition in the MX2CC and MX85CC classes on Sunday at the Jamhuri Motocross Track as the season nears a close.

In the MX2 Class, Ngugi Waweru and Walter Kuria fought an epic battle with Rohan Gandhi only taking part in the second heat after his bike developed mechanical issues.

Rohan was second in the second heat with Ngugi emerging tops in all heats in what was a calculated and bold race. Kuria on his part had two second spots in the first and last heats.

In the MX85 Class, another sizzling duel was witnessed as Neo Wahome was imperious with all three wins coming through in commanding fashion.

He however, had to be wary of Tanav Choda who finished second overall followed by the lone lady in the class Natalie Cherono who had two podium finishes in a difficult day which saw her emerge a disappointing sixth in the opening heat.

Meanwhile the MX65 Class also saw an interesting battle where Lewis Ogonyi was the overall winner with 57 points after winning two heats of three.

He had a real threat in the shape of Wahome Mutahi who won one heat and came in runner-up in the first two heats and amassed 54 points.
