Mombasa will seek to continue their fine run during the next round of the National Gun Owners Association (NGAOKenya) International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) monthly match at the serene outdoor shooting range in Kirigiti, Kiambu on October 26.
The event, expected to attract 56 shooters drawn from civilians and members of the disciplined forces, will see shooters contend with six courses of fire (COFs) in a variety of scenarios; shooting on the move, while kneeling and while prone, only seen at top shooting competitions such as the Southern Nationals, Northern Nationals, Africa Championships and the World Championships. This against a backdrop of 21 Kenyan shooters drawn from NGAOKenya and currently attending the 2019 IDPA Africa Championships in Cape Town, South Africa.
Team Mombasa did not disappoint during the last round last weekend at the same venue with Omar Moosa and Taib Muzahim clinching first positions in Marksman and Novice categories while Ibrahim Ndungu took second spot in Sharpshooter (SS) Category.
Aden Mohammed bagged the Expert Category winner, Peter Muli the Sharpshooter Division winner as Belinda Okoth carried home the Ladies trophy, followed closely by Elizabeth Wachianga and Pauline Munyi.
