The body of a 10-year-old girl who disappeared about three months ago was yesterday found inside a septic tank at Chokaa estate off Kangundo Road.

Nairobi police boss said the child was reported missing in September last year. Investigations were launched but the girl was never traced.

However, yesterday evening a construction worker in the adjacent plot retrieved the badly decomposed body that was wrapped with a black polythene bag.

Detectives from the Kayole Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and their counterparts from the Crime Scene Support Services visited the scene and conducted forensic investigations before the body was transferred to the City Mortuary for a post mortem.

Record statement

The deceased’s aunt and uncle and the people who discovered the body yesterday recorded statements with the police.

Meanwhile, a family in Kibos, Kisumu  is distraught after their teenage daughter went missing nine days ago.

Joseph Ochieng says the search for her 14-year-old daughter Gladyce Chepkoech has not bore fruits.
