A Magistrate has sentenced a man who released a video of Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip smoking shisha in the company of a woman identified as Aeedah Bambi to one-year imprisonment.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku sentenced Jones Ochieng Mbolo after pleading guilty to attempting to extort Sh 200,000 from the woman in the video, Aeedah ‘Bambi’ Pesian Ahmed.

"Having demonstrated to the probation officer that you are a man of means, l fine you sh 200,000 in default to serve one year in prison. Right if appeal within 14 days," ordered Mutuku.

While sentencing him, Mutuku said that Mbolo does not deserve a non-custodial sentence as the probation officer's report shows that he is at a high risk of committing another offence and was not remorseful for his actions.

The magistrate noted that the accused has been giving conflicting information since the last time he was in court.

The court heard that he threatened Aeedah that he would expose her on social media platforms with the video taken of her contravening the law by smoking shisha.
