Nyon, Monday

Liverpool will face a tough task in the Champions League last-16 after being drawn against Atletico Madrid while Manchester City will take on Real Madrid.

The draw took place on Monday morning and included all four Premier League sides that entered the competition in August after they all made their way into the knockout stages.

Chelsea have been given a difficult draw as they will have to take on Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund were the first team out and will host Paris Saint-Germain in the first-leg before a trip to the French capital.

Jose Mourinho and his Spurs side will take on the exciting RB Leipzig side managed by Julien Nagelsmann in the first knockout round.

They play first at the new Spurs ground after Mourinho’s team finished second.

Real will welcome back Pep Guardiola and his City side before travelling to the Etihad Stadium for the second leg, years on from their rivalry with his Barcelona team. Guardiola had last week joked that he would rather meet Real in the final.

Atalanta, who managed to qualify in dramatic fashion after losing their first three games in the group stage, will be visited by Valencia in the first leg.

Meanwhile, Lyon are up against two-time winners Juventus, who are desperate to win the Champions League this season. The second leg of that encounter will be in Turin.

The last fixture out of the hat on Monday morning will see Napoli, who sacked manager Carlo Ancelotti this week, face Barcelona.

There is now a break until the first legs of the matches take place in February over two weeks - February 18, 19, 25 and 26.   - Dailymail
