Troubled Kisumu All Stars are optimistic of registering their first league win since they made a debut in the country’s top flight football, when they host 2008 champions Mathare United at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu tomorrow.

The hosts have lost four out of five matches this season, only picking a point from the fixtures, that was from a barren draw against KCB in their opening fixture before they lost against Nzoia Sugar, Ulinzi Stars, Western Stima and most recently Posta Rangers.

“We tried to work on our loopholes during the international break and we are now ready for our next opponents and believe we will get a positive result on Saturday. `Today we were just polishing up and setting up a strategy of beating our visitors,” said All Stars head coach Henry Omino.

He added: “No one wants to lose and it’s high time we bring back broad smiles to our fans.

Mathare are in for a rude shock.”

If All Stars win tomorrow’s clash it may be a turning point for them as they currently stare at a possible relegation by the time the season ends as they are perched at the bottom of the table, just a single point better than bottom placed Chemelil Sugar.

Mathare who shared spoils with Wazito during their last league match which ended in a 2-2 draw, is currently placed 11th on the log. They have only won one match in five attempts, but remain unbeaten.
