Kiharu MP gives exam revision materials to KCPE candidates
Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has provided exam revision materials to approximately 4, 450 class eight candidates.
Ndindi Nyoro said the materials will help the pupils study at home as they prepare for the KCPE examinations.
Speaking at Technology primary school during the distribution of the materials on Saturday, Ndindi said most of the pupils are unable to access online learning and a large number of them are missing out.
He said save for few primary schools which are near the urban centres most of them are stuck in rural areas which are relatively remote and thus digital learning may not work for them.
"There are some families which don't have the TVs, for others the parents don't have smart phones and thus cannot access the content" he said.
The Tangatanga firebrand said with the help of a local publisher and teachers, the revision books have been compiled to help the candidates keep up with the syllabus while still at home.
"This will serve as an equalizer for all the pupils in this area because we expect that a common exam shall be given to all the candidates in the country," he added.
He said this shall also help ease the work of the parents who have now taken up the role of the teachers.
Ndindi said the form four candidates shall also get their revision materials in a week's time.
Kiharu Education officer Richard Ng'ang'a said the materials come in handy to help most the learners prepare for their exams.
Ng'ang'a said the booklet covers all the subjects and topics covered in class.
"We expect these candidates to give us better results when they sit for their exams" he said.
