KDF speaks out after navy soldier guns down boda boda rider

Kenya Defence Forces(KDF) has said that bodaboda rider they killed on Wednesday morning in Mtongwe Navy Barracks had forced his way in.
Leonard Komora, 19, was gunned down at dawn outside Kenya Navy staff quarters as he proceeded to a soldier's residence.
A police report indicated that the deceased was killed for trespassing.

"The report we have is that the rider was shot at for trespass. We have started further investigations," said Likoni Sub-County Police Commander Jane Munyoki.
A tweeted statement by the Ministry of Defence dated November 20, indicates that Komora was signaled to identify himself but he forced his way in at a high speed ignoring a warning shot.
"The motorist was flagged down by sentries to identify himself but forcefully proceeded towards the main gate at a high speed," read the statement signed by a Colonel PM Njuguna.
After Komora ignored the warning shots, the soldier manning the entrance was prompted to shoot at him twice.
"This prompted one of the soldiers on guard duties to fire direct shots at the intruder in an attempt to immobilize him but he succumbed to his injuries," statement read in part.
