Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has refuted claims doing rounds that he has 'sensed Jubilee defeat' in Juja by-election ahead of the official announcement.

In a phone interview with People Daily, Kabogo said he was not even a member of Jubilee party having defected to independence after the 2017 general elections.

"I will sue anyone spreading the rumours," he said.

A fake statement attributed to Kabogo on Wednesday said: "As one who has been honored to serve the people of Kiambu Governor County as the former governor and previously as a long-serving member of parliament for Juja constituency, I believe that we must now put the divisions of the campaigns behind us and pursue a common goal of uplifting and serving the people of Juja. We mounted a spirited fight, but the people of Juja decided otherwise."

The Juja MP seat fell vacant after the death of Francis Waititu Wakapee.
