It is now official. Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will hold its elections on December 7 after the term of the current office bearers expires.

This was revealed during the unveiling of five-member elections board chaired by Prof Edwin Wamukoya with Eunice Lumallas, who has been incorporated as secretary, veteran journalist Elynah Shiveka, Abdi Said and Robert Nyakundi the other members.

Constituted by the National Executive Committee as provided for in Article 39 Clause 1p of the FKF Constitution, the board will be in office for four years effective yesterday, following its ratification and adoption at the 2019 FKF Annual General Meeting.

The board will oversee the national and county elections, and may also appoint an individual or institution to oversee sub-county elections.

“We are confident that the board members will uphold election integrity and do their job appropriately,” said FKF acting CEO Barry Otieno during the unveiling.

Speaking after the launch at FKF Fifa Goal Project offices, Wamukoya promised the electorate a free and fair exercise as enshrined in the federation’s code of conduct.

“I wish to announce on behalf of the board that we hope to conduct a poll that will be devoid of any flaws and controversies. The members who are persons of integrity were duly nominated by the federation as per its constitution,” said Wamukoya.
