Fake KDF officers to spend more time behind bars
The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) George Kinoti was given the green light by a Nairobi court to continue holding two fake Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers over allegations of obtaining millions of shillings from unsuspecting Kenyans.
Milimani Senior principal magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot on Monday, April 12 allowed the DCI to detain Kenneth Jumbe Onsongo and Charles Kamau Kimani for seven days in order to give police more time to complete Investigations on the alleged theft of money from innocent members of the public by giving them
fake KDF recruitment papers.
In an affidavit filed in court by corporal Patrick Kibowen attached at DCI
urged the court to detain the two suspects for a week to enable them assist in the ongoing probe in the matter.
They sought to detain them saying they are investigating them over
charges of forgery and obtaining money by false pretences.
Kibowen told the court that he was apprehensive that the two suspects if
released on bail may go out of the court’s jurisdictions before the investigations into the matter is complete.
