The battle for the control of the Ford Kenya party raged on Wednesday afetr leaders allied to the party Secretary General David Simiyu Eseli told off the Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula’s faction over leadership legitimacy.
Eseli said his purported expulsion and that of Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi was hogwash and dismissed the NEC decision as fake.
He accused besieged party leader Moses Wetangula for destroying the party and said his removal is the only way to redeem the party's lost image.
Speaking to the People Daily in an exclusive interview after news of his expulsion from the party, Eseli rubbished the ouster and told Wetangula to follow the constitution of the party.
"This matter which has been at the office of the Registrar of Political Parties hasn't been resolved. Both sides had been given an opportunity to internally seek out a solution. Before this, Wetangula went to court and this didn't stop us from removing him. He must go back home," he said.
He said that article 24(a) of the Kenya party constitution requires that the secretary general is the one mandated to issue for a notice for a National Executive Council ( NEC)contrary to what had happened where a few persons not recognized issued an illegal notice.
He accused Wetangula of calling for an illegal meeting held on 17th August and declared it null and void.
