DP allies to participate in BBI rallies

Legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto have vowed to attend all Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rallies beginning this weekend in Mombasa County.
In a statement read by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator and leader of majority in the Senate on Tuesday, the leaders also said they will mobilise their constituents to submit their views to the taskforce.
"We shall mobilize our constituents to present their views in all the 290 constituencies as the taskforce gazetted announced," Murkomen said.

Murkomen added that a section of politicians commenced the BBI rallies before the citizens could read the document prompting their decision.
“It has come to our attention that a section of the political leadership has already commenced public rallies aimed at politicizing the BBI process,” said Murkomen in a statement.
Murkomen condemned the Kisii BBI rally on January 10 saying the politicians present ‘resulted to the very callous tactics rejected by the BBI report’.
In their meeting at the Senate premises on Tuesday, the politicians announced that they will plan BBI meetings in other parts of the country to ‘support and complement the existing rallies'.
Murkomen was accompanied by Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, Members of Parliament (MPs), Alice Wahome (Kandara), Kimani Ichungwa(Kikuyu) and Moses Kuria (Gatundu South) among others.
The disgruntled legislators called for transparency in the BBI process and opposed the use of public funds in BBI rallies planned by their rivals.
