Wednesday, March 25th, 2020 12:05 |

Four people were arrested on Monday night after they were found drinking in a Thika bar in defiance of a government directive closing all entertainment premises.

The four, who included a bar attendant, were arrested at Paleo Hotel taking beer from the sixth floor and booked at the Thika Police Station.

Area chief Simon Kamau , who led the crackdown on local bars, said one of the patrons arrived in the country recently US and will be put under forcible quarantine.

The chief said some bar operators had defied the closure order and warned that pubs found in operation will have their licences revoked and the owners and workers charged in court.
