Cop swallows bribe money to destroy evidence
Bon Appetit! We all love money, but not to the extent of making it a snack! But it seems some policemen don’t mind taking a mouthful of dirty notes!
In March 2017, a police officer attached to the Kisauni Dog Unit left detectives from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) stunned after he stuffed Sh 2000 in his mouth and swallowed the notes when ambushed allegedly soliciting bribes from a tuk tuk operator.
He vanished before they could arrest him. The officer was caught red-handed asking for bribe despite not being in the traffic department.
“He took off with the money and swallowed it to hide the evidence, but we are following up with his seniors and we will catch up with him,” said EACC regional boss George Ojowi.
