Businessman comes to aid of Black Mamba

Former Kenya Handball Federation national champions Black Mamba Handball yesterday got a shot in the arm after receiving playing kits and a cash donation from Makadara businessman Antony Waithaka as they prepare to leave for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to play in the annual East and Central Handball Club Championships set to be held from November 28.
Waithaka gave out two sets of uniforms and the cash award to help the team with its logistics and preparations.
“This team has been a pride of Makadara for many years and I want to assure them that we will be supporting them as they prepare to go to Dar es Salaam and we will be praying for you to bring the cup home” Waithaka said.

The businessman-cum-politician, who is eyeing the Makadara seat in 2022 general elections, is well known for his support of sports in the constituency.
The Kaloleni-based outfit will be aiming to post positive results as they return to the regional event that was postponed last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Established in1980, Black Mamba has participated in the East African tournament for the last 10 years, finishing second in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 and will be seeking a win this year.
