Hundreds of boda boda operators from Endebes sub county, Wednesday held peaceful demonstrations protesting over the poor state of the Kitale-Endebess  road paralyzing business for close to two hours.

They threatened to dig holes in readiness for planting of banana stems along the busy road which they accused the Chinese contractor of neglect.

"We are giving the Chinese contractor an ultimatum of 24 hours to start construction of diversions to allow us safe passage during this rainy season which has negatively impacted on our operations," said Paul Kerega.

They blamed the Chinese contractor for receiving money from the government to put up diversions along the 13 kilometre stretch, which they said had become non-motor able since the start of the ongoing heavy rains.
