Aratus health to host Royal Sparkle of Blue

A major fundraiser is scheduled for November 27, 2021 in Nairobi to help intensify awareness and management of Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) especially diabetes.An estimated 160 guests will congregate at a Nairobi Hotel in the  Charity Fund Raiser seeking to raise money through the sale of tickets; seats and various valuable gifts.

Organisers of the event dubbed 'A Royal Sparkle of Blue’ have valued each table at Sh70,000,  while an individual guest can purchase a seat at Sh8750 per person. 

One of the directors of Aratus Health Limited, Arvinder Kalsi said the young company is organising a series of charity events to bring medical services to the under-served communities in the rural areas.  

"We are committed to chip in alleviating the burden of diabetes and other NCDs - cardiovascular, respiratory and also raise awareness on cancer."We have realised that charity fundrsisers are  key," he said ahead of the event.

Diabetes, he noted contributes to more than five million deaths annually in the world, making it the eighth leading cause of death globally.

In 2015, the World Health Organisation (WHO) listed the NCD in the top 10 causes of death across the world.

The WHO estimates that the prevalence of Diabetes in Kenya will rise to 4.5 percent in 2025 from the current 3.3 percent.

The event will feature an introduction to the project concept for NCDs in rural areas.

A host of experts in the area of NCDs will speak on the prevalence of Diabetes, while sponsors will talk about their support of the concept. 
Attendees will be stakeholders from the Healthcare Industry (Ministry of Health, Hospital Management, Insurance companies, and Pharmaceutical providers) and partners from other Industries – Banks, IT and Telecommunications. 

"Apart from the project concept, the event will conduct an official launch of the DiaBeaters Magazine," Kalsi revealed. 

The magazine is an awareness platform for people with Diabetes, their families and healthcare professionals. 

There will be a variety of performers throughout the evening, pianists, jazz band, sky dancers, acrobats, catwalk, encouraging young upcoming fashion designers and DJ to hit the dance.

A royal sparkle of blue’ event will display a raffle stand with approximately 20-25 gifts of various values and booths from fashion designers and other popular brands with an opportunity to purchase on the night with ‘x’ of proceeds going towards charity.

"We resonate with a quote for Diabetes ‘We do not know how strong we are until being strong is the only choice we have’ – Diabetes Awareness because it matters," he added.

Aratus works with key stakeholders in the healthcare industry such as hospitals; physicians, consultants in the public and private sector and in the counties. 

The main areas of interest are; importation and export of medical devices, creation of diabetes awareness through education and training initiatives, provision of strategic management consultancy to the healthcare sector among others.
