ANC’s Ayub Savula reveals how OKA will pick flag bearer
Amani National Congress party deputy party leader Ayub Savula has said the One Kenya Alliance shall arrive at the right flag bearer for the presidential candidate through mutual consensus.
He sought to downplay claims that the OKA alliance is divided and that the principals are each pulling to their side to pursue their race to state house.
Savula who had accompanied ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi to Kiharu in Murang’a said there will be no nominations conducted to determine who will be the flag bearer for the alliance.
“We believe in consensus, and we shall arrive at the right candidate who is best suited to lead the race,” Savula said.
He however drummed up support for Mudavadi, saying he is best suited to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta after his term in office elapses.
“We want someone who will revive the economy of the country and bring the much desired change in leadership, and that is none other than our party leader,” Savula added.
The Mp also urged the residents from the Mt. Kenya region to support Mudavadi and vote him in as the fifth president of this country.
Alfred Angohi Mp for Sabatia said the entire Western region has thrown its weight behind Mudavadi, exuding confidence that he shall win the race.
“All the leaders and people from the region have unanimously agreed that we shall support him and even those who are yet to join us shall be doing so by December,” Angohi said.
The legislator said Mudavadi is one of the leaders in the country who do not have a blemish as he has never been involved in any graft case and his track record speaks for itself.
Mudavadi’s tour in Murang’a comes a day after the OKA principal set influential business leaders under the Mt. Kenya's foundation days after meeting ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The foundation is believed to be had strong influence on who shall get the support of the region come 2022.
